What is fleshy or meaty nose? What are the drawbacks or benefits of having such nose?
Fleshy nose is described in medical term as a nose which has thick skin due. Such noses look very thick, fleshy and “meaty”. This term has been addressed in general but could be categorized from two other aspects. First, for the reason of the thickness of the skin. Second, thickness of the tip cartilage.
The skin has included different elements in which cause the thickness of the skin. One of them is the fatty-tissue under the skin, it could be removed easily. Another thing is the muscle which is integrated within the deep surface so any aggressive tissue removal might result in skin necrosis.
The next factor is cartilage resilience and thickness. In patients who have strong cartilage, they will have desirable results in comparison with people who lack resilience. At last, it could be mentioned that fleshy noses have bigger noses and less satisfactory results in comparison with thin skin. Swelling of these patients last longer with a slow pace and therefore surgical interventions has changed with special techniques. The only benefit of thick skin is overshadowing of asymmetry which means that mild asymmetry could be obscured.
